Renewable Energy Credits & Offsets Commercialization
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are similar to carbon offsets but are specifically focused on supporting generation of electricity sustainably such as from wind, solar or biomass. Meanwhile, a carbon offset refers to the units earned by organizations that have implemented a greenhouse gases reduction project. One offset credit is given for every ton of greenhouse gas that is reduced, stored, or avoided. The offset is then sold to an investor, government, or NGO to offset their emissions or for investment purposes. EAI can assist our clients with securing REC’s and monetizing their carbon emissions reductions from their sustainability investments.
